The late Terry Sjostrom, former owner of Birchwood Golf Course, is the subject of the fourth annual benefit golf tournament in his honor.
Proceeds from this year’s benefit will be donated to the Veterans Honor4 Flight program, which has served hundreds of veterans, including many in the greater Pelican Rapids area.

The former Bell Bank building in downtown Pelican Rapids is being renovated for a two-level vacation rental complex. Property management company True North Excursions is projecting to have the property listed online for short-term vacation rentals in June.

The Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band, pictured at an outdoor concert from a previous year, will be making its annual trip to Pelican Rapids for two concerts on April 24.
The concerts have been a highlight for veterans, families, and spectators of all ages—for many years. The all-volunteer band features numerous members from the Pelican area and many lakes area connections.
The first concert will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Pelican Rapids High School. The second concert will be at the Pelican Rapids VFW Club from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
