Many horses, ponies, teamsters return to Pelican year after year

“Little Bit,” the pony in the foreground, took her last walk through the Pelican Rapids holiday “Lighted Horse Parade.” Carol Sheridan has hitched up Little Bit to a small carriage for 14 years for the holiday event.

The Pelican Rapids Public Library “Little Books” have been created for 30 years by the Friends of the Library—inviting a member of the community to submit poetry, images, art and short—very short—stories. A sampling of the books are pictured here, with a $5 bill to reflect the size of the tiny books. And, the books are sold for $5—as a fundraiser for the library.
